Biography
Michael Burns founded Private Residence Resorts (PRR) in 1999 after a lifelong career in the resort industry. PRR was one of the first companies to introduce the concept of fractional-ownership to vacation homebuyers in two of Idaho’s most scenic mountain resort communities. As Owner and President, Burns continues to expand PRR’s reach. Burns is currently exploring locations across the West for his next fractional-ownership resort.
Burns began his career at Vacation Internationale, a pioneer company in points-based vacation timesharing co-founded by his father. He subsequently worked in the time share divisions for Marriott Hotels and the Walt Disney Company.
Burns holds a B.S. in political science from the University of Washington. He is a member of the American Resort Development Association and Urban Land Institute, and is a frequent guest speaker at their conventions. Burns is also co-founder and chair of the special task force on marketing and sales practices for the resort timeshare industry. Burns lives in Mercer Island, Washington, where he enjoys sailing, skiing, bicycling and playing tennis with his four children.
Nicki Dyson
Resort Manager
As an Idaho native, Hearthstone Resort Manager Nicki Dyson has seen much of what the state has to offer. Nicki and her husband Mike have lived in McCall for six years. With a BS in biology from Idaho State University, Nicki worked for the Idaho Fish & Game, leading teams on surveys of the high mountain lakes of the region.
Nicki oversees the service team and is a main personal contact for Hearthstone owners.
In her off time, Nicki continues to explore McCall’s immense, beautiful backcountry, often with her eight year-old dog, Galena. She and Mike are also avid skiiers, both downhill and on the water, and find McCall offers a remarkable landscape for both pursuits.
The Vernons
Hearthstone Owners
Christi and Steve Vernon purchased their home at Hearthstone in January of 2005. They live in the Treasure Valley and have two grown children, Patrick and Maggie and a son-in-law, Jason. Christi is a Pastoral Associate of Administration at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church and Steve works for the J.R. Simplot Company as the VP of Research and Quality Assurance.
Christi and Steve have two dogs, Milo and Shadow, who are never left behind when they visit their Hearthstone home. They chose Hearthstone because they wanted to enjoy their time in McCall instead of spending their time on maintenance projects at their vacation home. Christi and Steve love McCall because it is relaxing, beautiful and has a small town atmosphere. They both enjoy gourmet cooking and fine wines. They also enjoy fishing, snow shoeing, and water skiing.
The Porters
Hearthstone Owners
Brandi and Steve Porter have been owners at Hearthstone since July of 2004. They are usually accompanied by their two children, Michael, age 10 and Gabby, age 8 as well as their dog Cassie. At least a couple of times a year, Brandi gets her girlfriends together for a Girls Weekend that yields funny stories for the next six months. Steve, a long time employee of Micron, is one of the many Micron employees who own at Hearthstone. It is never a surprise to have the Porters in residence with others from the Micron group. The Porters call Boise home in spite of how much time they spend in McCall. They spend their summers on Payette Lake and their winters on the slopes at Brundage.
